Update from CASA of NH

We are so grateful to the Greater Lakes Region Charitable Gift Fund for your generosity and commitment to CASA. While the impact of the pandemic could have far-reaching implications for NH’s children, and the full scope is yet to be determined, we are working diligently and tirelessly to keep NH’s children safe in the following ways:

· Our advocate volunteers are connecting with their children remotely, through texting, online platforms (zoom, skype) and social media.

· Our recruitment and outreach efforts are being done virtually and online advocate resources are updated daily.

· We graduated 23 new advocates in the seacoast through our first remote class, and we are now scheduling statewide trainings over the next 3 months.

· We are launching remote state-wide informational sessions for prospective advocates this week with over 100 participants!

Marty is continuing to work closely with leaders from the Judicial Council, DCYF, Health & Human Services, Granite State Children’s Alliance, and other state and local organizations to determine next steps and strategies for keeping children safe. We do know that the crisis will significantly cut our revenue streams, but we are thankfully able to continue our operations through the end of the year.

We are so grateful to you and the Greater Lakes Region Charitable Gift Fund for your dedication to the safety of NH’s children is truly a bright light for our staff, advocates and children right now.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Here is a link to our COVID-19 blog that we are updating weekly: https://www.casanh.org/2020/03/19/covid-19/.
