WinnAero to send out activity boxes

To our participants and supporters:

I deeply regret to inform you that the WinnAero Board of Directors has decided to CANCEL ACE Academy this summer. We reviewed what is currently known about the coronavirus and the progression of the Covid-19 disease, the CDC and the NH state guidelines for summer camps and the facilities available to us for ACE Academy. The Board considered the constantly evolving situation and came to the conclusion that we could not ensure the safety of the participants, staff and volunteer speakers who attend our program. The majority of the students who pre-registered are returnees from past ACE Academies, and the Board agreed to recognize their loyalty to our program. As you know, all members of the staff are certified teachers. We are tired of remote learning and expect the children are as well. During the next few weeks, the staff will pack an activity box for each participant currently registered. Although there will be some screen time activities suggested, we will try to make these activities as hands-on as possible. These boxes will be shipped directly to the students in July. If you would like to participate by adding a handout, sticker or any other item, please let me know. We will gladly include your contribution to the box. Those of you who are local probably noticed that our annual "Wings, Water, Wheels" touch-a-vehicle event scheduled for last weekend did not happen. We are hopeful that the situation will be greatly improved by the fall and have rescheduled WWW for October 3. The local EAA Chapter 1516 is in the habit of offering Young Eagle "O" Flights during WWW and we are expecting them to participate once more. These flights are free for students.  You are welcome to bring your families and join us on the apron in front of the Laconia Airport terminal for  "Wings, Water, Wheels" on Saturday, October 3. Do not hesitate to contact me with your questions regarding ACE, WWW, or any WinnAero activities.  Let's all plan to meet at ACE 2021!
